Vice President discusses enhancing opportunities for children with disabilities

Vice President Faisal Naseem has met with stakeholders to discuss ways to increase opportunities and support for children with disabilities.

The meeting, held at the President’s Office on October 25, included discussions on safeguarding the rights of children with disabilities and campaigns to enhance these ongoing efforts. During the meeting, the vice president noted the importance of improving the existing approach towards maternal and neonatal wellbeing. Highlighting that children with disabilities require special attention even before reaching school age, he added that offering them essential assistance and care from the earliest ages should be the focus of intervention strategies.

Vice President Faisal Naseem further noted the importance of strengthening the structures in place to support children with disabilities within the education system. He also urged stakeholders to work collaboratively to ensure that children with disabilities receive the special care and attention that they deserve.

Stakeholders at the meeting discussed ways improve available facilities and treatment for children with disabilities. The meeting was joined by senior officials from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services.
