Indian deported from the Maldives for publicly mocking Islam

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has revealed the Indian national who publicly ridiculed Islam while intoxicated has been deported.

The male, said to be a medical doctor who worked at a private clinic in Male', was arrested on October 2 after publicly mocking Islam and challenging the police officers saying he had influence over the local courts. MPS said he was permanently deported on October 13.

The video of the Indian national mocking Islam while in an intoxicated state was shared on social media.
