Pilgrims from Maldives who travelled to Saudi Arabia have begun returning back to the country.
The first group of pilgrims who returned were from Thazkiya Private Limited. Meanwhile, the head of Hajj Mission appointed by President, Minister of National Planning and Infrastructure Mohamed Aslam, has also returned back to Maldives.
The last batch of pilgrims to return are from Maldives Hajj Corporation Limited. The first group of pilgrims from Hajj Corporation will return on August 28, while the last batch will return on August 31.
This year 2,000 Maldivians travelled to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj pilgrimage, according to Ministry of Islamic Affairs.
