Keeping Peace and Stability biggest achievement: Azima

Minister for Legal Affairs at the President's office, Aishath Azima Shakoor said that the biggest achievement of the current administration is restoring peace and stability in the country. She made the remarks while speaking on the weekly talk show, Maldives Today aired on PSM News.

Speaking on the show, Minister for Legal Affairs at the President's office, Aishath Azima Shakoor stated that each country is built up on their beliefs of the society and said that along the struggle for power, Maldives stepped out of the norms of the society. She stated that after President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom took office, the administration has been working to restore peace in the country. She said that Maldivian culture is peaceful and cited that peace and stability is the utmost importance for democracy to survive.

Talking in regard to the various investment opportunities brought in to the country by the current government, Minister Azima noted that to attract investments a country need to be certain and peaceful. She said that it was noticed that during 2012 to 2013 where less investments were brought due to the uncertainty of the country. She added that within these three years, the administration has attracted a lot of investments in developing the country.
