Tourism symposium planned for September

Tourism Ministry on Tuesday announced plans to hold a symposium coinciding with this year’s World Tourism Day.

The symposium is scheduled to be held on September 27 at Dharubaaruge Convention Centre, Malé.

The Ministry said that over 150 stakeholders are expected to participate in the symposium.

The symposium will discuss ways to further promote and develop the country’s tourism industry, the Ministry said.

According to the Ministry, discussions will also focus on implementing environment friendly waste management methods within tourism sector, human resource development and aviation sector.

The Tourism Ministry is planning various activities to mark this year’s World Tourism Day.
