President appoints High Commissioners to India and Malaysia

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Ibrahim Shaheeb as High Commissioner of the Maldives to India, and Ali Hussain Didi as High Commissioner of the Maldives to Malaysia. President Solih presented the letter of appointment to the two new high commissioners at a ceremony held at the President’s Office.

High Commissioner Shaheeb completed Master's Degree in Public Administration from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore. Earlier, he served as the Chief of Protocol, and Additional Secretary, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

High Commissioner Ali Hussain completed his Post Graduate Diploma and Master's Degree in Transport Management and Planning from the Loughborough University of Technology in the United Kingdom (UK). He had previously served as the High Commissioner of the Maldives to Sri Lanka and the Maldivian Ambassador to the European Union (EU) and Belgium, as well as serving as the Controller of Immigration at the Department of Immigration, the President of Male’ Municipal Council and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
