BML generates over USD 66 million in operational profit for Q3, 2021

Bank of Maldives (BML) has generated over USD 66 million in operational profit for the third quarter of 2021.

In the special general meeting held online, CEO and Managing Director of BML Tim Sawyer highlighted the bank’s exceptional financial results of the third quarter, noting the bank is in a better state than was projected. He noted the bank generated USD 66.7 million in operational profit, which was a 108% increase compared to the previous quarter. He added the main reason for the major jump in operational profit was the full payment of a large overdue loan.

Speaking further, CEO Sawyer highlighted the progress achieved by BML in providing better customer service. In this regard, he highlighted the upgrade to the contact centre and the introduction of digital pins and online card services. He said the bank strives to further improve its services and maintain a high standard of customer service.
