US-Bangla has announced it will begin flight operations to the Maldives in November.
The privately-owned Bangladeshi airline is scheduled to operate flights from Dhaka to Male' from the third week of November.
US-Bangla Airlines is set to operate a 164-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft for the weekly flights to cater to Bangladeshi tourists and Bangladeshi expatriates living in the Maldives.
The airline stated it has decided to operate flights for Bangladeshi travel enthusiasts due to the popularity of the Maldives in the South Asian Region. The airline further stated it plans to make travel smooth and affordable, and fulfill the long-standing expectations of Bangladeshis working in the Maldives.
US-Bangla Airlines also stated it plans to begin flights to Colombo, Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam in the near future.
Currently, US-Bangla Airlines operates flights to Dubai, Muscat, Doha, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Chennai, and China. However, the airline said flights for the Kolkata and Bangkok routes have been temporarily suspended due to travel bans in various countries due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
