Two key agreements signed between Islamic Affairs Ministry and IUM

Two important agreements were signed today between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments and the Islamic University of the Maldives (IUM).

The first agreement was signed at a special ceremony held today at the Islamic Centre’s conference hall. It concerns a research study to be conducted jointly by the Islamic Affairs Ministry and the Islamic University of the Maldives.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry by the Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs, Hawwa Latheef. Representing the Islamic University of the Maldives, the agreement was signed by its Dean, Dr Aminath Shafiya Adam.

Under the agreement, a study will be conducted on the “Impact of Local Tourism on Society”

The second agreement signed at the ceremony concerns the establishment of an Islamic Waqf Fund, with the fund being arranged as a platinum sponsor for the International Conference on Scientific Advancement, organised by the Islamic University of the Maldives.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry by State Minister Dr Mohamed Shujau Abdul Hakeem, while the IUM was represented by its Vice Chancellor, Dr Visal Moosa.
