The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has lifted the alert status of the military to "Yellow Two" effective from 1900hours of December 24.
Therefore, armed military personnel will be seen patrolling, a statement issued by MNDF stated. Further, MNDF said surveillance of vessels will also be increased. Noting the decision widely depends on ensuring the safety of the citizens, MNDF urged the public to cooperate in its patrolling and surveillance efforts.
The alert was raised to "Yellow Two" across the country, to ensure and strengthen national security and peace, according to MNDF.
