Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has revealed 371 complaints were registered during the third quarter this year.
A total of 917 complaints were registered in the first 9 months of the year, out of which 371 complaints have been filed in the third quarter, according to statistics published by the commission. In comparison, only 135 complaints were filed in the third quarter last year.
From the 371 complaints registered in the third quarter this year, ACC decided to investigate 364 complaints while the number of cases that was decided to be investigated in 2018 was at 103. Complaints it received were also directed to respective investigative bodies if ACC were not mandated to investigate those cases.
In the third quarter, 27 such complaints were directed to respective authorities, while 8 such complaints were directed in 2018. ACC also decided not to investigate 41 cases which did not fall under its mandate or when sufficient information was not presented. In 2018, 22 such cases were dismissed without investigations in 2018.
