The Bank of Maldives (BML) has supported the Maldivian Nurses Association (MNA) in conducting a mental health rehabilitation programme in Hulhumalé Phase II through its Bank Fund, aimed at providing assistance to individuals requiring mental health support and their families.
The programme, titled Zaithoon, focused on providing support to these individuals and their families while equipping them with essential life skills and strategies to cope with difficult circumstances. It also aimed to help participants reintegrate into society, challenge negative perceptions surrounding mental illness and raise public awareness.
As part of the programme, MNA conducted training sessions, taught healthy living skills and organised various community awareness activities. Through these initiatives, the association provided support to more than 100 people in Hulhumalé.
The initiative forms part of the Bank of Maldives' continued support through its Bank Fund for important social projects across different parts of the Maldives. The bank continues to support initiatives that benefit communities and operate sustainably.
