With the introduction of Vinavi Portal from Aasandha Company Limited, the Government of Maldives has installed a network amongst all government health service providers which would allow them to view patient medical records.
Speaking at a function held at Laamu Atoll Regional Hospital, Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen launched the portal that allows the management of consultations and patient medical history. Minister Ameen discussed the benefits of the data the portal would provide the ministry which would assist in making policies. He further said the portal would also allow transparency and accountability. He also discussed plans to begin a pilot project to develop an inventory system for all government health services providers including hospitals and health centres.
Speaking at the function, Assistant Managing Director of Aasandha Ibrahim Rasheed said efforts are underway to digitalise its operation to provide the public with swift and easy access and service. He said the software is to be developed to store MMR and X-ray reports as well.
The portal would manage all activities during the process of a consultation ranging from making memos to discharge once the consultations are over.
