Former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has criticised leaders of political parties remain enslaved and silenced, without even the courage to raise their voice for the people.
Speaking at a political rally, former President Yameen accused politicians of staying tongue-tied without the courage to utter a word against the government even when matters are worsening. Yameen further criticised political leaders for staying silent even when Islam is mocked openly. He further alleged the government of politicising the judiciary and the parliament. He also said the current ruling party has corrupted the judiciary.
The former president also made remarks on the manifesto of the government. He described the manifesto, agenda 19, is a hoax. He further said agenda 19 is an excuse to the incompetency of the government as no development project has been visible during the one year of the administration.
Expressing the incompetency of the government to attract foreign grants, Yameen also criticised the government for spending the annual budget and additional supplementary budget acquired this year.
