Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed has announced the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini will address a parliament sitting on Thursday.
The parliament speaker said a special sitting has been arranged for Federica Mogherini to address the parliament. He revealed diplomats, ambassadors, heads of European offices functioning in Maldives and heads of relevant authorities will be invited to the sitting.
Federica Mogherini served in responsible posts such as the Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Member of the Italian Parliament, Member of the European Union Council and Head of the Italian Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and Vice-President of its Political Committee.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the parliament earlier this year during his state visit to Maldives.
