President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has ratified amendments to three bills passed by the Parliament of Maldives.
The amendments ratified comprises of the second amendment to the Maldivian Islamic University Act, second amendment to Maldives National University Act and the fifth amendment to Maldives Pension Act.
The amendment to the Maldives Islamic University Act encompasses changes to the selection of senior university staff and the selection of chancellors and vice chancellors.
Further, the amendment passed relevant to the Maldivian National University Act was regarding the formation of its council.
The amendment on the Maldives Pension Act now allows up to 80 percent of the pension saving fund to be utilised to cover the costs for obligatory Hajj pilgrimage.
Upon ratification, the acts have now been published in the government gazette.
