The opposition coalition of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and People's National Congress (PNC) has claimed there have been no beneficial outcome for Maldives from the international trips made by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid.
Speaking at a press conference, opposition Parliamentarian Mohamed Saeed said the foreign minister has failed in attaining funds for national development projects, although he has spent over 1.7 million dollars for international trips in the past 8 months. He attributed the rapid development projects which were conducted by the previous administration as a sign of the successful achievement of the foreign policies.
Furthermore, the former Minister of Economic Development said the current administration has failed in getting funds for the development pledged during the presidential election last September. He said most of the funds received since November 2018 was for budget support.
