Maldives Media Council (MMC) and Ministry of Home Affairs have held discussions on developments to be brought to the media sector of the country.
MMC revealed discussions were held to formulate a policy to enhance and develop media and to establish a media registry. MMC noted discussions were focused on overcoming the challenges faced for media in Maldives and to form a policy to regulate media. Moreover, MMC revealed further discussions were held to initiate advocacy programmes in islands.
In the coming days, technical level discussions will be held, according to MMC.
