First Lady Fazna Ahmed has inaugurated Endometriosis Association of Maldives at a special ceremony held at Maagiri Hotel.
The main purpose of the association is to provide support to those who need it through informing and giving direction relevant to the disease, including its symptoms and treatment plans.
Endometriosis is a common and painful disease that affects women during their menstruation cycle. It is estimated that 1 in 10 women suffers from this invisible chronic illness.
Endometriosis Association of Maldives is a member of World Endometriosis Association. It is first non-governmental organisation from South Asia to be part of the world organisation.
