Fenaka Corporation Limited has delivered a new 1,000-kilowatt generator to Haa Alifu Hoarafushi to strengthen the island's electricity service and increase its power generation capacity.
Fenaka said the new generator will help provide residents with a reliable and uninterrupted electricity supply while preparing the island's power system to meet growing demand as Hoarafushi continues to develop.
Before the new genset arrived, Hoarafushi's powerhouse had a total generation capacity of 2,720 kilowatts. Once Fenaka installs and commissions the new 1,000-kilowatt unit, the island's power generation capacity will increase to 3,350 kilowatts.
Fenaka said the upgrade will also address space constraints at the powerhouse while providing a suitable solution for meeting electricity demand during peak hours. The company expects the additional capacity to further strengthen the island's electricity network.
