Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) has revealed 7 cases regarding the final voters list have been filed at High Court of Maldives. The High Court has also confirmed 7 cases were filed regarding the final voters list.
Speaking to media on the latest preparations of the parliamentary elections, President of ECM Ahmed Shareef stated the High Court has asked to answer the cases filed regarding the voters list. He revealed from January 28 onwards, a complaints bureau was established at the commission, adding operations of the bureau have been ongoing.
Noting many queries and complaints were filed at the complaints bureau, Shareef said 2 out of the 71 complaints have been responded. ECM assured it will abide by the laws and regulations when conducting the process of the parliamentary elections scheduled to be held this Saturday.
