430 ballot boxes to be placed for elections

Elections Commission of Maldives has announced a total of 452 ballot boxes will be placed for the upcoming presidential election. 430 ballot boxes will be placed in Maldives, including the ballot boxes in Male' City, Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, according to elections commission.
Moreover, the electoral body revealed ballot boxes will also be kept in four countries. In this regard, ballot boxes for upcoming presidential election will be placed in Trivandrum of India, Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia, London and Colombo of Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, elections commission has decided to place ballot boxes in 7 resorts, 5 industrial islands and in 4 prisons.
The elections commission revealed the preparations for the upcoming presidential election scheduled for September 23 is fast underway. Meanwhile, the ruling party, Progressive Party of Maldives and the main opposition party, Maldivian Democratic Party has announced its candidates and running mates contesting in the election.
