KDU awards 20 MBBS opportunities to Maldives

General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) of Sri Lanka awards 20 MBBS scholarship opportunities for Maldivian students.

The agreement for the scholarship opportunities were signed by Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Shiham and Vice Chancellor of KDU Rear Admiral JJ Rana Sinha. The agreement which would valid for a 5-year period would provide internship opportunities from the university, according to Ministry of Education.

Maldives and Sri Lanka share a close and cordial relation and revealed the scholarship opportunities from Sri Lankan Universities such as KDU and Colombo University testify the strong bond between the two countries, the Education Minister said addressing the signing ceremony. The Minister revealed currently 333 Maldivian students are studying MBBS, while 58 students are attaining postgraduate education on medicine from abroad.
