Minister of Gender and Family Zenysha Shaheed Zaki meets with Minister of Social Development of Oman Sheikh Mohammed bin Said bin Saif al Kalbani.
At the meeting, both ministers discussed efforts on advancing the rights of vulnerable groups including women, children, elderly and persons with disabilities. During an official trip to Oman from October 29 to 31, Minister Zenysha also visited the Association for the Welfare of Handicapped Children in Muscat. The Maldivian Gender Minister observed programmes on education, health and life skills development for children with disabilities conducted by the association.

Furthermore, Minister Zenysha visited the Childhood Care Centre in Muscat and explored Oman Government programmes and initiatives on child protection and child reintegration and monitored the concept and services provided at the centre.
In addition, the Minister met with Omani Women's Association Muskat and discussed empowerment of women through capacity building trainings and awareness programmes. During the trip, she also met with the Acting Under Secretary for Diplomatic Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Awadh Al Hassan and discussed on enhancing bilateral relations between both countries. Previously, she visited Bahrain and met with her counterpart and other relevant officials.
