President inaugurates Maldives Financial Expo 2026

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has officially inaugurated the Maldives Financial Expo 2026, an event organised by the central bank, the Maldives Monetary Authority. The event serves as a valuable opportunity for attendees to explore opportunities within the financial sector, acquire information regarding newly introduced services, and secure the practical guidance necessary for making sound financial decisions, the central bank noted. Following the inauguration, President Muizzu toured the exposition’s stalls, accompanied by Hassan Zareer, the Minister of Finance And Public Enterprises, and Ahmed Munawar, the governor of the Maldives Monetary Authority.

Held at Hulhumalé Central Park from 2 July to 4 July, the exposition offers free daily admission between 3:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Visitors can access guidance on opening savings accounts, applying for loans, securing insurance, and mapping long-term financial plans, organisers observed. Offering the distinct advantage of evaluating numerous financial products under a single roof, the event eliminates the need to visit disparate institutions, the central bank explained.

The gathering features participation from commercial banks, regulatory bodies, and government agencies, functioning as a vital platform for entrepreneurs, central bank officials asserted. Business owners can consult directly with lenders, the institution underscored. The itinerary includes activities for families and panel discussions for industry experts to deliberate on the future trajectory of the Maldivian financial sector, scheduled for 2 July and 4 July, the central bank announced.
