BML Bazaar Branch to begin selling US dollars on Sunday

Bank of Maldives (BML) on Thursday announced that it would begin selling US dollars to customers through its Bazaar Branch located in STO Trade Centre starting Sunday.

The BML Bazaar Branch, previously located in Sea Tracs Building, was relocated to the STO Trade Centre on August 21.

US dollars will be sold to customers from 3pm to 6pm on working days, the bank said.

According to BML, the change was made to allow maintenance and renovation works to be carried out on Sea Tracs Building.

The bank has been selling dollars to approximately 500 travellers per day over recent weeks, with 500 US dollars provided to each valid travel ticket.

BML says individuals must come to the branch to make the currency purchase in person, and in order to support families traveling together it would allow an individual to purchase dollars for a maximum of five people, provided all documentation is in order.
