Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel is scheduled to visit neighbouring Sri Lanka on an official visit later Tuesday.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Dr Khaleel will undertake the official visit from 18-21 February at the invitation of H.M. Vijitha Herath, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism of Sri Lanka.
During the visit, Minister Dr Khaleel will pay courtesy calls on Anura Kumara Disanayake, President of Sri Lanka and Dr Harini Amarasuriya, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, the Ministry said.
“Foreign Minister Dr Khaleel will also hold official talks with Minister Vijitha Herath, M.P.,” it added.
The Ministry said that Minister Dr Khaleel is also scheduled to meet with the Maldivian community in Sri Lanka and also meet with the private sector of Sri Lanka to explore opportunities to enhance collaboration in various sectors.
Minister Dr Khaleel is heading to Sri Lanka immediately after concluding his visit to Oman to attend the 8th Indian Ocean Conference.
