Parliament approves appointment of three ambassadors

The parliament has unanimously approved President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's nominations for Ambassadors to China, Bangladesh, and Saudi Arabia. This decision follows endorsement of ambassadors to various other countries and to the United Nations.

Dr. Fazeel Najeeb has been designated as the ambassador of China to the Maldives. Dr. Najeeb brings a wealth of experience, having held numerous positions within the Ministry of Trade from 1984 to 2004, including roles such as Governor of the Maldives Monetary Authority and State Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Additionally, Shiuneen Rasheed has been ratified as the ambassador of Bangladesh to the Maldives, currently serving as the Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

President Dr. Muizzu's nomination of Mohamed Thaha to serve as the ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the Maldives has received parliamentary approval.

The nominations for ambassadors to China and Bangladesh were presented by the President on March 25, while the nomination for ambassador to Saudi Arabia was put forward on April 2.
