MPS holds flag hoisting ceremony on 91st anniversary

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has held a flag hoisting ceremony on its 91st anniversary in Male' and various atolls.

In Male', the ceremony took place at the main headquarters, Shaheed Hussain Adam Building, while similar flag-raising ceremonies were conducted at designated police stations across the atolls.

This ceremony occurred on March 28 at 0000hrs, and notably, the flag-raising ceremony in the Male' area was predominantly led by female police officers.

The event was officiated by the Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan and the Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau. Following the ceremony, a special prayer was offered along with the recitation of pledges.

The MPS was established in 1932 with the reinforcement of the 'Police Service Act'. Over the years, the MPS has undergone significant changes, particularly with the enforcement of laws that have allowed them to serve independently.
