Mohamed Nazim, the presidential candidate of the Maldives National Party (MNP), has unveiled a comprehensive commitment aimed at easing the financial burden on citizens. During a campaign event held in Feydhoo, Addu City, Nazim outlined a series of initiatives, including providing the first 100 units of electricity from household meters and 3,000 liters of water from household water bills, both free of charge.
Addressing the gathering, Nazim empathized with the financial hardships faced by certain individuals who struggle to manage their water and electricity expenses. In response, he pledged that his administration would implement a policy whereby the initial 100 units of electricity would be exempt from charges. Further demonstrating his dedication to citizens' well-being, he unveiled his manifesto's proposal to waive fees for the first 3,000 liters of water included in water bills.
Expanding on his vision, Nazim turned his attention to the financial sector, acknowledging the challenges that arise during international financial transactions. He asserted his commitment to streamlining overseas business transactions by leveraging platforms such as PayPal, thereby enhancing the ease of financial interactions for individuals and businesses alike.
In addition to his economic proposals, Nazim delved into the realm of education in the Maldives. Recognizing the importance of cultivating a diverse range of skills among students, he put forth a distinctive approach to schooling. His plan involves a structured schedule wherein mornings are dedicated to academic studies, while afternoons are reserved for engaging in enriching extracurricular activities. This innovative framework aims to provide students with a holistic and well-rounded education. Nazim also expressed his determination to overhaul the existing school system to align with this progressive vision.
