The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has underscored its commitment to maintaining the integrity and authenticity of the pilgrimage experience warning action will be taken against unauthorised companies engaged in arranging Umrah pilgrimages
In an official press release, the Islamic ministry highlighted that certain entities lacking the requisite authorisation have been involved in facilitating Umrah pilgrimages. The ministry warned stringent actions will be taken against such companies to ensure compliance with established regulations. It is strongly advised that prospective pilgrims exercise caution and refrain from making payments to unlicensed companies. Instead, individuals are urged to align themselves with approved providers, thereby adhering to the established rules and guidelines governing Umrah arrangements. The ministry further emphasised that companies that do not adhere to the set regulations will be held accountable for any resulting consequences or harm.
The ministry stated that 41 companies have been given permission to facilitate Umrah pilgrimages. Of these, the permits of 12 companies expire in November this year and the permits issued to seven companies expire next year. The permits are issued for a two-year period. The list of companies given permission to facilitate Umrah pilgrimages can be found on the ministry's website.
