President inaugurates infrastructure projects in Hanimaadhoo

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has inaugurated several major infrastructure development projects in Hanimaadhoo, Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

During his visit, President Solih opened the newly opened football stadium, which was constructed to modern standards and features a turf field. He also opened the newly developed skate park and the upgraded harbour developed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). In addition, MTCC completed the development of 7.4km of roads and the island's shore protection project.

Prior to his visit to Hanimaadhoo, President Solih travelled to Utheemu in Haa Alifu Atoll and inaugurated the newly completed extension of the island’s healthcare centre and a four-classroom building for Ghaazee Bandaarain School. The healthcare centre extension building includes a public health unit that provides preventative and promotional health services, an administrative area for managing healthcare employees, a counselling room, and a laundry. The project was contracted to Perfect Malafehi Maldives Private Limited. The four-classroom building for Ghaazee Bandaarain School was contracted to Badhahi Investment Private Limited.

Furthermore, President Solih also visited Muraidhoo in Haa Alifu Atoll and inaugurated a new powerhouse, Fenaka Corporation Limited office, water supply network, and football ground. The newly inaugurated powerhouse and Fenaka office boast modern facilities and can accommodate up to 30 staff members. Strategically located away from residential areas, the facility has the capacity to generate 620KW of power.

Additionally, the contract for the construction of the water supply network was awarded to Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC). Upon completion of the project, 129 households have been successfully connected to the network.

Moreover, the football ground is a modern facility equipped with contemporary amenities and layered with turf. It was developed to promote youth and sports and encourage healthy lifestyles. The administration is committed to promoting healthy lifestyles and prioritises the development of sports infrastructure.
