Gov't to conduct study on RTL service in Zone 1

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has stated that a socio-economic study on the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) high-speed ferry service in Zone 1 comprising of Haa Alifu Atoll, Haa Dhaalu Atoll, and Shaviyani Atoll, will be conducted.

The planning ministry has contracted FSJ Consulting Private Limited to conduct the study. The main objective of the study is to analyse the socio-economic impact of the RTL ferry services on the public, businesses, persons with special needs, and other sectors. The study will also collect information on individuals that are directly and indirectly affected by RTL services. The study will be conducted between from July to August. The ministry urged the public to offer their cooperation to FSJ Consulting to conduct the study.

The RTL high-speed ferry service commenced on May 5, 2022. The service currently connects islands in Haa Alifu Atoll, Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Shaviyani Atoll, and Lhaviyani Atoll. RTL is currently conducting familiarisation trips in Huvadhoo Atoll.
