Elections Commission of the Maldives (ECM) has launched a special programme to train officials for the upcoming presidential election.
The programme was launched at a ceremony held at Dharubaaruge convention centre in Male' City by President of ECM Fuad Thaufeeq. Under the programme, a total of 5,600 officials will be trained for the presidential election to be held on September 9. ECM stated that the trainees will be provided information on their role and responsibilities in the election.
The programme will be conducted from 0800-1800hrs everyday until July 21. ECM places a special emphasis on providing accurate information and training to the officials working at polling stations. Individuals interested in becoming election officials can submit their application by August 5.
