Champa Brothers Maldives Private Limited has donated USD71,000 in grants and resources to Hoarafushi International School.
Director of Champa Brothers Sara Mohamed Moosa handed over the donation on behalf of Chairman Mohamed Moosa to President of Hoarafushi Island Council Mohamed Waheed at a special ceremony with Parliamentarian Ahmed Saleem in attendance. The donation includes furniture, office supplies, and equipment needed to build a children’s playground. Hoarafushi Island Council also presented a commemorative plaque for the generous assistance for the development of the island.
The school in Hoarafushi, Haa Alifu Atoll, was built by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. The school is meant to provide students with the opportunity to receive a quality modern education from preschool to key stage five. The school will have the capacity to enroll 200 students and is expected to open during the 2023/24 academic year.
