Chinese company contracted to renovate Boduthkurufaanu Magu

Male' City Council has contracted China's Hunan Construction Engineering Corporation Limited for the renovation of the Boduthkurufaanu Magu in the capital Male' City.

The laying of asphalt in the Boduthkurufaanu Magu was completed and opened to the public in 2018. However, some areas of the road have been damaged since then. Therefore, China's Hunan Construction Engineering Corporation, which built the highway connecting Male' and Hulhumale, has been contracted for the renovation of the damaged areas of the road.

A total of 32 damaged areas on Boduthkurufaanu Magu will be repaired as part of the project. The damaged asphalt on the road will be removed and re-laid. The condition of the utility pipes laid under the road will also be inspected. The total cost of the project is USD90,791 and is to be completed within 30 days.

China has recently donated 3,000 street lights to be used in Male'. They are smart lights equipped with cameras and sensors.
