The Ministry of Finance is seeking a contractor to develop a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Centre in Fuvahmulah City
The finance ministry has invited interested parties to submit their expression of interest for the development of the TVET centre in Fuvahmulah under a build, finance and operate public-private partnership model. The expression of interest must be submitted before 1300hrs on April 27.
The finance ministry will evaluate the expressions of interest and send requests for proposals to shortlisted parties. Interested parties can obtain detailed terms of reference for the project at the finance ministry’s website and can request further information.
The chosen contractor will be given a 30,000sqft land plot to develop and operate the TVET centre for a 50-year period. The Ministry of Higher Education stated that the contractor will be allowed to make changes to the project design. The scope of the project includes the opportunity for the contractor to establish commercial businesses on the land plot.
The TVET centre will be developed to facilitate various programmes and workshops and will consist of special classrooms to host multi-purpose workshops and information and communications technology (ICT) laboratories. It will also consist of a special administrative area and staff room, auditorium, meeting room, studies room, and library, as well as sports facilities and a student services area.
