New mosque to be built in Fuvahmulah

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has contracted Donbez Private Limited for the construction of a mosque in Fuvahmulah City.

The agreement was signed by Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali and Managing Director of Donbez Mohamed Rasheed during a special ceremony held at the Islamic ministry. The new mosque has been tasked to be completed within one year. The mosque will accommodate 400 worshippers at a time.

The government began the construction of 40 mosques as part of the ongoing efforts to build mosques in different parts of the country. As such, more than 17 mosques are currently constructed and in use.

The state budget for 2023 includes the construction and renovation of 38 mosques in different parts of the country.
