China contributed to immensely development in Maldives: Vice President

Vice President Faisal Naseem has stated that China contributed immensely to the socioeconomic development of the Maldives. He made the remarks during a courtesy call paid by Vice Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) Deng Boqing.

At the meeting, Vice President Naseem and Vice Chairman Boqing reflected on the long-standing and strong bilateral relationship between the Maldives and China, which spans over 50 years. They also spoke about the improved relations and the commitments fulfilled over the previous years.

Additionally, Vice President Naseem stated that China contributed immensely to the socioeconomic development of the Maldives and assured that the Maldives would uphold the strong friendship built over the years. He noted that the Maldives needed the support of all its partners to deal with the uncertainties of climate change, especially in accessing finance to build resilient communities.
