Gov’t to introduce portal for audit information

The Ministry of Finance has revealed that an online portal will be introduced through the Bandeyri Portal to securely maintain and release audit information.

Speaking to PSM News, Internal Audit Specialist Mohamed Zaeem said the lack of resources and mechanisms to secure audit information are hindrances. He said the ministry will be implementing solutions to the problems identified by the various institutions such as the Auditor General’s Office, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), and the ministry itself.

As such, Zaeem said a module will be included in the Bandeyri Portal to maintain audit information in a systemic manner. He said the module will have features such as information on auditors at state institutions and members of committees as well as information on the audits being conducted at government offices.

In 2018, the finance ministry introduced Bandeyri Portal to be used as a platform to share documents with government authorities as part of the efforts to digitalise and make services more accessible to the public. The portal also enhances the implementation of the state budget by facilitating credit funding requests, budget control transactions, and special single-source assignments for projects and services carried out by ministries.
