The Ministry of Education has been provided with the land for the development of a new school in Feydhoo, Addu City. The land was handed over during the Golden Jubilee ceremony held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Feydhoo School.

The document of the land for the new school in Feydhoo was handed over to the Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali by the Mayor of Addu City Ali Nizar. The land for the new school was allocated from the reclaimed area of the island. The budget for the construction of the new building has been included in the State Budget 2023.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Aishath said the most important request by the people during President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's visit to Feydhoo in March 2022 was to build a new school building to strengthen the education system in Feydhoo. She said, therefore, the funds required for the new building have been included in this year's budget and the school will be developed with all facilities required for a single-session school. She noted practical work for the school will commence soon.

The formal education system in Feydhoo School commenced in 1972. There are currently 581 students enrolled in the school. They include 37 students with disabilities.
