Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has conducted a training programme using a virtual reality (VR) simulator for ramp operations called RampVR.
Manager of the Department of Technical Development Hamid Ali said the use of the VR software intends to improve on the training programmes being conducted for ramp officers. He noted that the VR software includes all airport operations and trainees are completely immersed while using the headset and motion controllers.
MACL stated that ramp officers will be able to participate in airport operations after completing their training and that 18 officers have completed the training programme so far. The first VR training programme began on December 4.
