Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel has departed to Georgia on an official visit to co-chair the second round of political consultations between the Maldives and Georgia.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the consultations would provide an opportunity to review the existing relations and further enhance cooperation between the two countries. The first round of political consultations between the two countries was held on December 11, 2019, in Male’ City.
During the visit, State Minister Khaleel is also scheduled to meet with the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Genadi Arveladze, and the Chairperson of the Foreign Relations Committee at the Parliament of Georgia Nikoloz Samkharadze. State Minister Khaleel would also be meeting Maldivian students currently studying in Georgia.
During the visit, State Minister Khaleel is accompanied by Joint Secretary Shiuneen Rasheed and Desk Officer Saifulla Waleed.
