Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has opened the opportunity to rent four urban shacks designed for the purpose of selling snacks.
HDC stated the urban shacks open for rent to residents living in Hulhumale', can be leased for two years, and a monthly lease deposit of USD33 will be required. The tenants for Urban Shack will be selected through a raffle among applicants and the lease agreement must be signed within seven days from the date of signing. If the service is not started within this period, the agreement between the two parties will be canceled without any changes, according to HDC.
The state-owned company has also opened urban kiosks for rent to sell snacks and beverages in six neighbourhoods designed for the smallest businesses in Hulhumale'.
