The president made the decision to honour Minister Naseem in order to recognise his national contributions to the government over a period of more than 37 years, as well as his role as one of the pioneers of the Maldives tourism industry during a precarious and uncertain time.
At the ceremony held at Dharubaaruge' convention centre, President Solih stated that he believes that Minister Naseem's contributions and services to the country should be recognised and celebrated at a national level. He also conferred the National Award of Honour to 10 recipients and the National Award of Recognition to 22 recipients at the ceremony.
