Maldives discusses collaborating with Bahrain on women, children rights

First Lady Fazna Ahmed has discussed collaborating with Bahrain on efforts to promote and protect the rights of women and children. She held the discussions with Hala Mohammed Jaber Al Ansari, the Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women of Bahrain.

During the meeting, First Lazy Fazna and Secretary General Hala Mohamed spoke about the importance of collaborative efforts to promote and protect the rights of women and children. The first lady commended the council's role in addressing women's needs to help them reach their full potential and contribute to society. She conveyed that the protection and promotion of women's and children's rights is a priority policy area for the Maldives that she is deeply passionate about. They also expressed willingness to work towards the common goal of empowering girls and women.

The Supreme Council for Women was established in 2001. Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa chairs the council, which includes 16 female public figures with experience in women's affairs.
