Fenaka commences upgrade of sewerage system in Huraa

Fenaka Corporation Limited has commenced fieldwork of the project to upgrade the sewerage system established in Huraa, Kaafu Atoll.

Fenaka is undertaking the upgrade of the sewerage system in Huraa in order to resolve the difficulties faced by the people of the island due to problems in the existing sewerage system. In this regard, the residents of Huraa currently face problems such as the overflowing of sewerage junctions during rainy days and the foul smell coming from the pump station.

Fenaka revealed the project to upgrade the Huraa sewerage system is undertaken in three phases. The first phase involves relocating the main pump station, which is currently placed near the health centre of the island. Fenaka stated the relocation of the pump station is expected to be completed by the end of this week.

Fenaka further stated the second phase of the project involves reinstalling the household connections of the sewerage system. During the third and final phase, the existing pump stations will be replaced with new, upgraded pump stations.

Fenaka revealed the sewerage system upgrade in Huraa is expected to cost in excess of USD 650,000.
