A forensic diving course conducted in Vaani, Dhaalu Atoll, has concluded.
The course, organised by the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement, combined Open Water Dive, Advanced Open Water Dive, Emergency First Response (EFR), Rescue Diving and Forensic Diving modules.
The exercises began on 1 June, with the aim of enhancing the ability of the participants to conduct underwater investigations and train officers in technical and practical skills required for forensic diving operations. The 40-day training course concluded on the 10 July.
The closing ceremony was graced by Commissioner of Police, Ismail Naveen. Speaking at the ceremony, Naveen congratulated the graduates and stressed the importance of specialised police skills such as forensic diving.
Ten police officers from four countries completed the course. This includes five officers from the Maldives, as well as participants from Saudi Arabia, Cambodia, and Sri Lanka.
