Another temporary mosque to be built in Hulhumale’ Phase II

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has contracts a local company to build another temporary mosque in Hulhumale’ Phase II.

The contract to build a new temporary mosque in Hulhumale’ Phase II was awarded to Yes Maldives Private Limited. The new mosque will be built to accommodate 600 worshippers at the same time. The cost of the new mosque is USD 200,000.

Yes Maldives Private Limited had also been contracted by the Islamic ministry in September to build a temporary mosque in Hulhumale’ Phase II to accommodate 450 worshippers. This project was contracted at a price of USD 280,000.

The first temporary mosque in Hulhumale’ Phase II, named Masjid Ameel Jaleel, was opened to the public in October. The two-storey mosque can accommodate 650 worshippers at once, and has a multi-functional area inclusive of a library and classrooms. The mosque was designed by Inside Plus Private Limited, and built by Zaan Construction Company Private Limited.
