Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed the COVID-19 death toll in the Maldives has surpassed 250.
HPA confirmed two COVID-19 related deaths on November 29, which took the total number of deaths in the Maldives to 250. The two recent deaths recorded are of a 54-year-old Maldivian female and 90-year-old Maldivian male.
HPA stated around 0200 hours in Noonu Atoll Hospital, a 54-year-old Maldivian female admitted passed away which was recorded as the 249th COVID-19 related death. Another death was recorded at 1042 hours of a 90-year-old Maldivian male admitted at Hulhumale Medical Facility (HMF), recorded as the 250th death, added HPA.
As per statistics, there are 1,769 active cases of COVID-19, out of which 12 patients are receiving care in medical facilities. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives is 91,464.
